Preparing Your Child for Brakkenfestival

Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

Only 8 more nights to go until Brakkenfestival 2026 begins! Below you will find a list of important rules and information for the festival.

We recommend going through this information with your child(ren) so they know what to expect and what to do in certain situations.

- If you do not want your child to appear on social media, please make sure they wear a plain white T-shirt. Children wearing a plain white T-shirt will not be photographed or filmed.
- The doors open at 9:30 a.m.
- Ticket scanning starts at 10:00 a.m.
- Upon arrival, your child will receive a wristband on which you can write your phone number.
- Your child will also receive a number written on their hand. This number is used to collect their arts, crafts, and other creations at the end of the day.
- You are welcome to walk around the venue with your child upon arrival. Please also show them where they can have lunch and where the restrooms are located.
- Activities begin at 10:00 a.m.
- At 11:00 a.m., all parents are kindly asked to leave the ice rink.
- You can pick up your child again at 4:00 p.m. Please wait outside for your child(ren) when collecting them.
- Arriving later than the start time is no problem. However, early pick-up is not possible due to safety reasons. Your child's safety is our highest priority.
- Your child may bring their own food and drinks in a backpack clearly labelled with their name.
- Food and drinks are also available from our children's café. Payments can be made using a hospitality card, cash, or a debit card.
- A hospitality card costs €5.00. Purchasing a hospitality card means your child does not need to carry cash or a bank card during the festival.
- Please leave valuables at home. The Brakkenfestival organization cannot be held responsible for any loss of or damage to personal belongings.
- At Brakkenfestival, we treat each other with kindness and respect. If a child does not behave respectfully, we may have to ask them to leave the festival. In that case, we will contact you by phone and ask you to come and collect your child.
- All activity volunteers wear a yellow or green T-shirt with the Brakkenfestival logo.
- All members of the Brakkenfestival Board wear a purple T-shirt with the Brakkenfestival logo. If your child has any questions or needs help, they can always ask someone wearing a Brakkenfestival T-shirt.
- A member of the Board is always stationed at the main entrance to comfort children who are upset or need assistance. When walking around with your child, please show them where this is so they know they can always go there for help.
- Throughout the day, there will be plenty of volunteers walking around the venue to supervise and assist whenever needed.
